Goal: $10,000.00
Specific Need
The work of supporting and advocating for children who experience abuse, neglect and trauma is never-ending. Children in this community and neighboring communities are facing situations no child should ever have to endure.
Our agency, Sunflower Children’s Collective, works tirelessly to support these children and their families as they navigate some of the most difficult circumstances you can imagine.
Your donation to Sunflower Children's Collective directly impacts our ability to continue to serve children and families in this community and help them as they try to find a path to hope and healing.
Mission
The mission of Sunflower Children’s Collective is to advocate for children and families through a victim-centered and trauma-informed lens, serving in collaboration with community partners. By doing so, we aim to provide safe, supportive, and nurturing advocacy for children who have experienced abuse or neglect.
Profile
Sunflower Children’s Collective is a dedicated nonprofit organization committed to advocating for and supporting child victims of abuse and neglect. Established with the goal of providing comprehensive support through a victim-centered and trauma-informed approach, the organization operates three distinct yet interconnected programs: Sunflower CASA, Stepping Stones Child Advocacy Center (CAC), and Sunflower Bridge Child Exchange & Visitation Center (CEVC).
All three of the agencies under the Sunflower Children's Collective umbrella provide direct services to children and families in Pottawatomie County.
-
CASA: Trained volunteers advocate for the best interests of children involved in the court system due to abuse or neglect. CASA volunteers provide a consistent presence in a child’s life, helping to ensure their needs are met and their voices are heard in court proceedings.
-
CAC: Our CAC staff provides forensic interviews and advocacy services for child victims of sexual abuse and their non-offending caregivers and ensures that child victims and their families receive compassionate, trauma-informed care and support throughout the investigative and legal process.
-
CEVC: Our supervised visit program offers a safe, neutral environment for children to interact with their non-custodial parents during exchanges and visitations. It promotes positive and healthy relationships between children and their parents while ensuring the safety and well-being of all involved.
