Invest in Great Futures!

Since opening our Wamego Site doors in August of 2014, this program has grown to serving 196 individuals a year and nearly 115 a day at our After-School, No-School Day, and Summer Programming.

In the Fall of 2020, in partnership with USD 320, we have expanded our services from 1 Location in Wamego to 2. We are now serving onsite at both Central Elementary for K-2nd graders AND West Elementary for 3rd-5th Graders.

Mission

To inspire and enable all young people to realize their full potential as productive, caring, and responsible citizens.

Profile

In 2019, the Boys and Girls Club of Manhattan served 2,828 youth in Manhattan and Wamego, with an average of 825 each day. With the help of the Club, families have a safe, fun, and educational place for their children before and after-school, in-service days, and during spring and summer school breaks.

We serve:

41% of our members receive Free or Reduced Lunch Services

31% of our members are from single-parent homes

13% of our members are from military families

Services provided by the Boys & Girls Club are reduced to ensure affordability for our families.

Annual membership (calendar year) $30. This membership fee is waived for children receiving State health insurance and all active and reserve military members.

The cost to the Club is $8 per school day per child.

The cost to our families is $1.40 per school day per child or LESS. Families have the option of volunteering to cover half the cost of a semester fee. For qualifying families, the Club can provide up to a 50% scholarship for programs.

The Club works to make up the difference of the actual cost of the Club with fundraising events, grants, individual and corporate giving, and third party events such as Grow Green Match Day.
